The 2022 Soul Train Awards red carpet in soulful fashion

The 2022 Soul Train Awards joined the Grio Awards in honouring Black excellence over the course of a long weekend filled with festivities.

R&B group Xscape came together once again on Saturday night, breaking off from their current tour to perform a mashup of their classics and win the Lady of Soul award for the year.

We’ve pretty much grown up watching Soul Train, so to receive the Lady of Soul Award and be acknowledged decades after we [began] all our hard work is an incredible honour, said group member Tamika “Tiny” Harris to Entertainment Tonight.
Morris Day and The Time had a rousing performance that brought back memories as they collected the Legend Award for the evening. They demonstrated why they continue to be legendary.

Day remarked during his victory speech, “I’ve been living and breathing music for the last forty plus years. It’s been a wild voyage, and I owe a few people a debt of gratitude.

Ari Lennox, Lucky Daye, LeToya Luckett, Jermaine Dupri, Coco Jones, Chanté Moore, and Tank were among the other guests and performers at the 2022 Soul Train Awards. Check out our slideshow below to see more of their soulful fashion.
