The manager of EST Gee, a prominent artist from Yo Gotti’s CMG Records, was fatally shot in Louisville following the label’s highly anticipated homecoming concert. The tragic incident occurred despite heightened security measures put in place for the event.
According to Louisville police spokesperson Aaron Ellis, 31-year-old Devontae Beach, also known as EST Big Beach, was discovered with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle near the KFC Yum! Center, where the “Sky Dwella” rapper had performed the previous night. Despite the rapid response from EMS, Beach was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting has prompted a search for suspects as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The concert, part of EST Gee’s Summer Jam, featured high-profile performances from Yo Gotti, 42 Dugg, Lil Baby, Icewear Vezzo, and others.
Authorities had already expressed concern over potential violence ahead of the event, issuing a public service announcement due to security fears linked to a 2021 investigation into a federal drug trafficking operation involving 10 EST street gang members.
The heightened security measures aimed to prevent such violence, but the shooting underscores ongoing concerns regarding safety at high-profile events.
