Kaia Gerber Talks Her New Zara Collab

On the catwalk, model Kaia Gerber can carry off almost any look, but away from the runway, the fashion icon has a unique personal style of her own. Her sleek ensembles, which draw heavily on 1990s minimalism, are frequently enhanced with subtle shirting and boxy jackets. Zara wants to work with Gerber this season for just that reason. On October 4, she and the Spanish shop will collaborate on the release of a new capsule collection, which will be available online and in some physical stores.

“I’ve always loved Zara and how they bring accessibility to fashion, which isn’t always the most accessible industry,” says Gerber. “I’ll have an expensive blazer, but I’ll still end up grabbing my Zara blazers.”

Gerber and Zara collaborated to produce a line of 30 essential pieces for the wardrobe. The collection, which consists of apparel, accessories, and shoes, is made up of refined and somewhat more contemporary versions of everyday essentials. According to Gerber, “I wanted it to be everything I wanted to wear. “I travel a lot, so I was wondering if this collection would include everything I required if I were going away for a month or two.”

Strappy bra tops, thick turtleneck sweaters, boxy suits, cropped denim jackets, and silky slip dresses are among the collection’s offerings. It was about putting it together and blending in some more exposing pieces, adds Gerber, who describes her style as being pretty traditional. “I adore the open-back white shirt. I really adore the silk pyjama set since I’m constantly trying to find new places to wear pyjamas. Tops cost between $30 and $120, while pants are $89, skirts cost between $89 and $169, and jackets cost between $189 and $439.

Gerber continues by saying that the simpler colour scheme of black, white, brown, and grey was chosen on purpose. She favoured accessories that were completely easy to mix and match. I adore colour, but my outfit is primarily comprised of greys, blacks, and beige colours, according to Gerber. “I desired that everything fit together. I like not to overthink when getting dressed in the morning. But she also want accessories that went well with such bold pieces for colour enthusiasts. They might be worn with a bright hat or backpack, she suggests. “Your character can add colour!”

With her collaboration launching this week, Gerber adds that it may not be the last we see of her own designs. She’s tackled clothing—and she could very well move on to another category soon. “I’m very into architecture and interior design right now, so I’d want to design my house,” says Gerber. “Zara has a home line—maybe Zara Home!”
