Despite the setback, Usher made a triumphant return. After revealing his injury on Instagram on August 15, he announced that he would be sidelined for the tour’s initial dates, including shows in his hometown of Atlanta. “Earlier this week, I suffered an injury to my neck while rehearsing to provide my fans with the greatest Usher show of all time,” he shared. Usher assured fans that with proper rest and treatment, he would be ready to hit the stage as scheduled.
True to his word, Usher launched his tour on August 20 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC. Fans were treated to two exhilarating performances, with surprise guest appearances by Raheem DeVaughn and Wale. Despite initial fears of a prolonged delay, Usher’s resilience shone through, delivering shows that lived up to his reputation.
For those who missed the Atlanta shows, Usher has promised to make up the dates in December. The singer reiterated his commitment to his fans, emphasizing the importance of his health in ensuring the highest quality of performance. “I love my fans,” he stated. “Thank you for understanding that this injury must be healed so that I can give you the 100% excellence that you expect from an Usher show. I will be on stage in your city very soon.”
