Margot Robbie Looks Stunning in a Black Cape

Margot Robbie is currently promoting her latest film, Amsterdam, around the world. The always fashionable movie diva is naturally teaching a master lesson in red carpet glitz at the same time. Robbie demonstrated that a classy black dress can be anything but dull at the London premiere of her mystery comedy.

The Oscar-nominated actor appeared on the red carpet (or, in this instance, the green carpet) in a black cut-out dress and a dramatic cape. The Celine-created style is inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s classic Hollywood charm and shows that sometimes less really is more.

The major actors of Amsterdam donned synchronised all-black ensembles, plainly indicating that there was a dress code in place for the big event. (A special mention goes to actor Rami Malek, who proved that not only James Bond is capable of making an all-black outfit his own.)

Robbie finds the modest, traditional appearance to be a welcome change. With paparazzi-captured on-set images of her flamboyant, technicolour looks as Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s next film, the internet has become used to—dare we even say, obsessed—with them. Since the project’s filming was finished, Robbie has leaned back into her typical clean and classic style. She most recently wore a stunning boxy and beautifully fitted suit. Sadly, we won’t be able to see it in cinemas until the summer of next year. This garment has a Morticia Addams-like and otherworldly quality, yet it doesn’t seem costume-like at all.
