Legal Action Is Coming For Cardi B’s Racist Marge Simpson Halloween Costume

Due to her risqué Marge Simpson Halloween costume, which was inspired by fashion designer Thierry Mugle, Cardi B may be subject to legal action. According to ArtNet News, the style was developed in 2013 as part of the Marge Simpsons Style Icon series by Italian Pop artist aleXsandro Palombo. He then recruited intellectual property law expert Claudio Volpi as his legal counsel.
According to Volpi, “Cardi B has illegally hijacked the work of aleXsandro Palombo for purely commercial interests in violation of the most fundamental copyright and Instagram principles, with the accompanying substantial consequences, both of recompense and of dishonour for her public image.
Palombo first contacted Carter, Cardi B’s stylist, photographer Jora Frantzis, and the Atlantic Records PR department via his publicist regarding the pictures. The sole person to respond was Frantzis, who said she would be “glad to update the credits” despite not knowing “there was an artist behind this artwork prior.”

To no purpose, Palombo then demanded that all parties involved produce a subsequent “remedial” post giving him full credit and linking to his Instagram profile.

Volpi has submitted a formal notice to Carter, Frantiz, and Craig Kallman, the chairman of Atlantic Records, demanding that they publish the follow-up article within seven days of receipt and amend the earlier post, even though no litigation has yet been filed. He has threatened legal action and warned that he will seek Palombo’s compensation if they don’t cooperate.
