Indian Hip-Hop sensation and Gully Gang’s rap royalty, Divine, also known as Vivian Wilson Fernandes, has made an exciting announcement about his upcoming collaboration with the late Punjabi rap pioneer, Sidhu Moose Wala.
Titled “Chorni,” this highly anticipated single is set to release later this week, creating a wave of excitement for Moose Wala’s posthumous releases worldwide.
Divine first teased fans with a preview of the track back in January. During his electrifying performance at Lollapalooza India, the legendary rapper shared a sneak peek of “Chorni” alongside Gully Gang’s esteemed filmmaker JD and Hip-Hop superproducer Karan Kanchan.
This announcement from Divine comes amidst the anticipation surrounding another posthumous release, “Dilemma,” by renowned British emcee Stefflon Don. On June 28, 2023, during an Instagram live session, Stefflon Don shared a snippet of her forthcoming collaboration with Moose Wala.
Steel Banglez, the celebrated London-based superproducer and longtime collaborator of Moose Wala, is also gearing up for his own posthumous project titled “Attached” this year.
Divine, the towering figure of Mumbai’s Hip-Hop scene, who recently previewed new music, had a close bond with Moose Wala, arguably the greatest Punjabi rapper and singer of all time. The “Traffic Jam” rapper frequently pays tribute to Moose Wala during his live performances.
During a historic live set in Ahmedabad, Divine honored Moose Wala, joining a chorus of rap pioneers including Stefflon Don, Burna Boy, Tion Wayne, MIST, and Drake, who have all shown their appreciation for the late artist.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first collaboration between Divine and Moose Wala. Apart from “Chorni,” the duo previously worked together on “Moosedrilla,” a track produced by The Kidd, featured on Moose Wala’s extensive album, “Moosetape.”
“Chorni” will be released just before Divine embarks on his first global tour. The talented emcee is scheduled to perform in Australia and New Zealand later this year, adding another milestone to his remarkable career.
Fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating Divine’s highly awaited rap record, “Chorni,” featuring the incomparable Sidhu Moose Wala, which is set to drop this week.
